Carbon Copy
LIFE IN MINNESOTA

We began searching for a buck in the fall of 2008. We saw Carbon's picture on the Superior
Semen Works website and knew that was our guy. However, we were unable to get his semen, so
our search continued.

In December, we decided to drive a loop through Missouri and look at some boer farms that we
really liked while on the way to get an angora buck. Our itinerary included a stop about an hour
away from Hawk Shadow Farm. We called and asked if we could just stop and look at Carbon
Copy in real life since we were so close. Melissa told us she had nothing for sale, but said we
could sure stop by and see the goats.

Carbon, in real life, was magnificent. The head, the horns, the length, the width - WOW - he was
the whole package. While talking with Melissa, she told us that she had had a lot of offers on
Carbon, but he meant too much to her for her to sell to just anybody. However, (this is where we
had to pick our jaw up off the ground) she felt he would be a good fit for us. She was ready to
retire him and she would sell him - but only to us. WOW again!

We drove back down to Missouri at the end of January and brought the big guy home. He is a
gentle giant and is indeed a perfect fit for us. He is royalty here at Red Falcon Ranch and receives
only the very best of everything.

Carbon is amazing at six years old. He is still massive and in great shape. He carries the
ruggedness of his South African heritage. His father, Renoir, was one of the original South African
imports. Carbon has proven to be a hardy Minnesotan, too. As of this writing, Carbon has been
with us about four months. He has adjusted well and seems to be enjoying his retirement. Our
three boer does think he is "all that" and I can almost hear them whistling when Carbon walks by.

The other gorgeous hunk in the pictures is my husband, Todd. He is the all-around ranch-hand
who makes everything happen and work around here.
